ABOUT NATALIA

Natalia de la Torre is a costume designer, crafts artisan, technician, and scenic painter for theater and dance. Originally from Worcester, Massachusetts, they received a BA in Theater Design from Temple University and an MFA in Production Design from Ohio University. 

Natalia is Costume Shop Manager for the Walnut Street Theater and head draper for Upper Darby Summer Stage, as well as an adjunct professor at Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ. They served on the Barrymore Oversight Committee for the 2018/19 and 2019/20 seasons, and as a Barrymore nominator for 2017-2020.. In the 2016/17 season Natalia received one of 5 Design Residencies at the Philadelphia Design Center, a non-profit co-working hub for theater and film makers. 

 

In addition to designing, Natalia enjoys maintaining a variety of skills in related areas, often teaching workshops on Wig Styling and Maintenance or Thermoplastics. They occasionally sub as non-union wardrobe or wig stylist for various theaters, and have scenic painted for the Lantern, Interact, and Delaware Theater Company.
